“Origin” is not just a place name on a label, nor an abstract terroir story. The point is not to rank countries or mountains as “best,” but to distinguish ecological and production conditions that can be compared. Global figures depend on reporting years, product definitions and trade measures; the map and country profiles are an entry to difference, not a live ranking table[3].
